today started way too early for my liking, but i had inspection a little later in the morning, and wanted things to be nice and tidy for carol to walk through. i passed with only a couple of things that she wanted mr. williams to come out and fix... luckily, none of it was because of me, and only one teeny problem was due to brenna breaking the slat out of the bottom of one of her blinds.
i napped for a little bit after nine-thirty. at least, i'm pretty sure i napped.. i lay down and closed my eyes, and seemed to just open them again as soon as they were closed.... and two hours had passed.
i went to see my doctor today, for pink-eye. it's horribly itchy and weeps a lot of guck out. i was able to pay my copay only by the kindness of the doctor letting me post-date a check for friday. my medicine, however, will have to wait til then, too... seeing as it's only a brand name product at this time, and i only have enough to cover the generic copay.
i found out what my mother's birthday present from bill was.... a precious little toy poodle. she's so cute. mom named her doodle.. doodle the poodle. sickeningly cute, that... but it fits. i posted off her birthday card today, and am getting the portraits that were taken in june ready for mailing this weekend. sadly, i can't afford frames.. but mama says that's alright; just means she'll get to pick out ones that go with her decor.
other than that, it's taking me longer to type than usual. see, i'm fairly heavy-handed on the keyboard... i tend to wear letters off of keys, and leave groove spots where the key-top dips inward from my abuse of it. j said if i would type less heavily, it would probably save the keyboards, and i'm trying to do just that... pressing gently on the keys where the sound of typing is softened. but it's damn hard to do, as i find myself speeding up and moving back into the heavy-handing typing. it actually takes thought and slowing way down to be more gentle on the keyboard.
next thing you know, i'll be more gentle all around... which will make people sick of just how sweet and kind i am. you know the sort... the person who's always cheery and has a smile for everyone... kind of like how i am at work.
hmmmm
maybe it's too late for me, afterall.
i'm that cheery person

Buy keyboards in bulk. or wear big padded gloves. 'Course spelling would suck then.
Happy Wednesday
switch to an old IBM Model M "clicky" keyboard. You can get them on ebay "new in box" for too much money, (expect to pay ~$25 and up if you go that route) or haunt the used/goodwill stores for them. They are robust, and tend to last long after the computer they came with has died. Ask around. someone probably has one they aren't using any more.
I bought one for work, 'cause our craptastic Dell ones are, well, craptastic.
You'll have to either make sure you get one of the PS2 connector ones (small round connector about the dia of a AAA battery) or get one with an older "DIN" style connector (About the size of a nickel around) and get an adaptor. The adaptors usually run $5-10 if you can't find one next to the keyboard in the goodwill store :)
